I began playing guitar at age 12 and later became the bassist in my high-school band. Bass guitar remains my primary instrument. I also play the accordion to some extent.
I currently perform with two bands: Develer, which blends Anatolian and Turkish musical elements with jazz and rock, and gobo, a progressive/alternative rock trio. I also work as a session musician for recordings and concerts.
I give private bass guitar lessons as well. If you're interested, take a look at my Instagram and reach me there or by email.
I listen widely and hold a deep appreciation for traditional musics from many cultures. Personally, I enjoy art-rock, math-rock, and other progressive styles, especially those that use complex rhythms. In recent years I’ve become interested in both traditional and contemporary Japanese music, and I’m fascinated by it.
Music deeply inspires my academic work, and I’m delighted by how scientific insight continually reshapes my experience of music.
